User guide

Everything CLIPXEL Studio does, in four steps.

The same flow you see when you open the app, explained with animations โ€” load the clip, mark the defect, pick an engine, and process. All the extra features at the end.

STEP 01

Load your clips

Drag your videos straight into the window, or use the "Load clips..." button to pick them from the file browser. You can load several at once if they share the same sensor defect.

  • Formats: MP4, MOV, MXF, AVI
  • Automatically shows duration, resolution, frame rate and file format (plus ISO, lens, or color profile if your camera recorded them in the file)
  • The list can be reordered and clips removed before continuing

STEP 02

Paint the mask, just once

On a sample frame, you mark the burnt spot with the brush. Tools just like a photo editor: size, hardness and opacity adjustable by dragging the numbers.

  • Shortcuts: B brush, E eraser, Space pan
  • Ctrl+Z / Ctrl+Y undo and redo
  • Zoom and pan to mark precisely in 4K

STEP 03

Pick engine and quality

Two repair engines live in the same app. The before/after preview updates instantly when you switch between them, before processing a single real frame.

  • Blur: fast, ideal for reviewing the whole batch
  • OpenCV Inpaint: slower, better on textured backgrounds
  • Configurable speed (Fast/Balanced/Quality) and output resolution

STEP 04

Process the whole batch

Applies the mask to every frame of every clip with ffmpeg. An overall progress ring and a per-clip bar show you live progress.

  • Cancel at any time, without leaving half-finished files
  • Detailed log for every clip processed
  • Repaired files land in a "reparados" folder next to the original

EXTRAS

Features that aren't part of the wizard

Save templates

Save a painted mask as a template on your PC and reuse it on another clip with one click, without painting again.

Automatic updates

The bell icon lets you know when there's a new version. One click downloads and installs it, without losing your settings.

Light and dark mode

Starts in dark mode; the toggle next to the bell switches themes instantly.

Zoom and pan

Mouse wheel to zoom, spacebar to pan โ€” just like a professional editor.

Undo / redo

Full brushstroke history while you build the mask, with no step limit.

Cancel processing

A button stops the batch at any time; the half-finished clip is discarded automatically.
