Sensor repair · 100% local

A burnt pixel shouldn't cost you the shot.

CLIPXEL Studio detects and removes burnt or dead sensor pixels across all your videos, from a single reference. Mark the defect once and the app automatically repairs every frame of the clip — without uploading a single file to the internet.

Mark the defect once. It fixes itself, in every frame of the video.

When does CLIPXEL Studio help?

If your situation matches any of these, it was made exactly for this.

Hot sensor pixels

The classic bright dot that always shows up in the same spot, especially in long exposures or night shots.

Dead sensor pixels

A black or signal-less dot that got stuck after a knock, a drop, or simple wear.

Laser-damaged sensor

Stage lights, projectors, or laser pointers that burn an exact spot on the sensor.

Night recordings

The higher the ISO, the more hot pixels stand out — and in video, they show up in every single frame.

Same spot, throughout the video

If the defect always appears in the same position in the frame, a single mask fixes it across every frame.

Footage that can't be reshot

A one-of-a-kind take, an event that already happened — when reshooting isn't an option.

The wizard

Mark it once. It's fixed in every frame.

No touching up frame by frame: the same flow you see when you open the app is four steps — pick the clip, mark the defect once, choose the repair engine, and process the whole batch.

01 · Clip

Load your videos

Drag your clips into the window or pick them from the file browser. CLIPXEL Studio reads the camera metadata automatically.

02 · Mask

Mark the defect once

With an adjustable brush (size, hardness, opacity) you paint over the burnt pixel on a single sample frame.

03 · Engine & quality

Pick engine and speed

Gaussian blur for a quick preview, or OpenCV inpainting for maximum quality. Live before/after preview.

04 · Process

Repair the whole batch

Applies the mask to every frame of the clip, automatically. You can cancel at any time without leaving half-finished files.

Two ways to repair

Pick speed or precision, frame by frame.

Both engines live in the same app — try one, switch to the other, and the preview updates instantly.

engine · blur

Gaussian blur

The fastest option for removing the defect in uniform areas (sky, wall, blurred background) or for a first review pass over the whole batch.

Speed
Texture accuracy
engine · opencv inpaint

Inpainting reconstruction

Rebuilds the texture using information from neighboring pixels (Telea algorithm). Ideal when the defect falls on detail, edges, or complex textures.

Drag the slider

The same frame, before and after.

This is what the live preview looks like inside the app while you adjust brush and engine — drag the handle to compare.

Under the hood

Real retouching tools, not a magic button.

Everything you need to get the clip export-ready, without leaving the app.

Live before/after preview

See the result of the chosen engine as you paint, before processing a single real frame.

Batch processing

One mask applies to every clip that shares the same sensor defect, one after another.

100% local

Your clips never leave your computer: no upload, no account, no server involved.

File data, always visible

Duration, resolution, frame rate and format, real and verified — plus ISO, lens, or color profile when your camera recorded them in the file.

Brush with size, hardness and opacity

Just like a photo editor: adjust each parameter with draggable number fields or keyboard shortcuts.

Drag and drop clips

Drop files straight onto the window. You can also pick them from the usual file browser.

Cancel anytime

Stop processing at any point in the batch; partial files clean themselves up.

Undo and redo

Full brushstroke history while you build the mask, with zoom and pan to move around the frame.

Light and dark mode

The interface starts in dark mode by default and switches instantly, easy on the eyes while editing.

Professional processing

CLIPXEL Studio uses FFmpeg as its internal engine to guarantee compatibility with the most common video formats, no extra installs needed.

So you know what to expect

CLIPXEL Studio doesn't replace a sensor repair.

It's designed to remove permanent, fixed-position defects that appear in the same spot in every frame. It doesn't fix lens dirt, blur, image noise, or moving objects — for that, this tool isn't the right one.

Before installing

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to know how to code or install Python?

No. The Windows installer bundles everything, ffmpeg included. It installs like any other program and opens from the Start menu.

Do my videos get uploaded to a server?

Never. All processing runs on your own computer. CLIPXEL Studio doesn't need an internet connection.

Does it work with cameras other than the Sony A7III?

Yes. It was first tested on the A7III because that's where the original defect appeared, but the mask brush and both repair engines work with any clip where you can photograph the damaged spot, regardless of the pixel's color.

What happens if I cancel mid-batch?

The clip being processed at that moment is discarded along with its partial file; clips already finished stay saved.

Which engine should I use?

Start with Blur to quickly check the mask is well placed across the whole batch, then switch to OpenCV Inpainting for the final export.

A burnt pixel shouldn't ruin the shot.
